Death Stranding: Part 07
0You know what's really pissing me off about this game? I have no idea what I'm doing when trying to manage my cargo. It's unclear to me what happens when I press "X". Am I confirming something? Moving something? Dropping something? It's a small annoyance and I'd like to believe I'm getting better but whenever I enter a menu to manage cargo, I feel like I'm relearning everything again.
Another annoyance is equipping. I don't know why exactly I'm having a hard time with this, but for some reason, it takes me several attempts to equip correctly. I'm honestly hoping I can get the hang of this soon.
I build a motorcycle, but I had to abandon it because I couldn't get it over rocky terrain. I wonder if I will ever be able to get it back. I was able to use it for a little bit and it wasn't that fun to drive. Building that and a road as well as the safehouse, it brings to light how important resources are. I'll need to be more proactive in picking those up and recycling them.
The game hasn't hooked me yet. I think about it frequently and I want to play it, but there is still that sense of dread. Is it fun? Eh, not yet. Nothing about the game is intuitive. Walking sucks, driving sucks, combat is okay. Building is interesting and I want to do more of that. So I want to deliver things and building things unchallenged. Is that too much to ask? In a Kojima game, maybe.
