In the original playthrough, the winning attempt on the boss started 21 seconds into the video (in episode 8, judged by the boss first moving, because the boss intro had already happened in episode 7), and it died 4 minutes and 7 seconds into the video (226 seconds of combat), while in this playthrough we had 197 seconds of combat (boss dies at 6:02), so yeah, almost half a minute faster this time.

Of course, in the original playthrough, my stats at the time were 2 in everything, so I had a more expensive build this time. Even if the total number of upgrades as the same, getting to explode a guy with Magic 4 seems maybe more damaging than attacking with daggers with Strength 2 and saving magic mostly for the moments it "solves" something rather than for damage (that is, hitting the mace or stunning him during the vacuum attack).
