First, make good use of the "worker senses" (default key R) to see all the removable parts of an vehicle (highlighted green). There should be a small indicator icon showing the right tool you need to use to detach a specific part. Once you are done with the easy parts like doors and bumbers, get your hands on that roof. The video shows an easy way to load the roof onto the truck without the need of driving a second vehicle to the site. The trick is to smash into the car with your rear and the vehicle should move, the roof should touch the loading compartment, and the scrap should be added to your pile. In case of trains, do not bother with the roofs, the train is very static and it is impossible to move it and get to the roof. Still, it provides a decent amount of scrap, so make sure to dismantle any train you see. With these methods, you should be able to get the scrap-related achievements in no time. Remember to revisit locations so that vehicles can respawn.
