Welcome everybody! To Let's Play Homeworld Deserts of Kharak! Part 14 Mission 9 on Clas-sic difficulty The Whispering Gallery! Enough of digging and salvage time to put all theos resources I have accumulated so far in Homeworld Deserts of Kharak along with all the tech-nology I have discover to good use! Two Gaalsien carriers are on approach and are attacking the Saakala on the other side of Whispering Gallery. I will send out my fleet there as for now the carrier won’t be able to assist, New technology in this mission is really fancy as finally after so long I can upgrade the hack ability for Rachel and guess what ? The Gaalsien, on classic, use the Honour Guard unit here! Yeah! The big Railgun platform the same I have since the Gaalsien Base! But lets take a minute a look at the mission intro, Hyperspace units in to rock ? That’s some sick lore story! Hell imagen the horror and this is not some classic SF horror that all the sudden your ship is pulled out of Hyperspace and force in to a rock on a desert planet of Kharak, even if somehow You survive this force landing how will You stand the temperature of Deserts of Kharak ? unknown planet without communication. Scary! And not only I have seen a fail hyperspace attempt but also the signs on rock withing the Gaalsien Base where non other than the one from Taiidan the same fraction from Homeworld like the first homeworld. Even tho this game is made by completely different people then the original franchise I like the idea and I like how they at least try to make it look like one piece. Anyway Gaalsien, on classic, decided its time in The Whispering Gallery, to use better air units then just fighters so they will constantly send bombers on our position and this time the carriers will actually send missiles aswell. Saakala at the start of The Whispering Gallery will take a serious beating but they can hold at the beginning imported thing is to send there backup as soon as possible. The Whispering Gallery Is an odd map, two cliff sides on both sides of the map and a little valley in the middle. Lots of wrecks lots of resources for me to harvest, While you will be defending the Saakala on classic remember to send bombers to a production cruiser near by and destroy it so that the Gaalsien will lose a bit of pressure on the Saakala. First part of The Whispering Gallery is just defending there will be time for a counter attack later. remember to for how harvest what You can and do not lose to many units unless you are not playing in classic, those honour guard units hit hard so try to hack one or two with Rachel hack ability, things like this comes handy on Classic I think. In The Whispering Gallery the Carrier gets a new ability it’s a long-range missile. Something similar to Homeworld Cata there the mothership also had a long range weapon. However here in Homeworld Deserts of Kharak firing this weapon costs resources. So use it if You really have to, Good thing about The Whispering Gallery is that enemy have to move in large groups because of the narrow passages in the mountains and cliffs so it's actuly a good map for testing this new weapon!
