6:45 - Game is a massive tease making you think you were gonna get Zhao Yun that early. Though I suppose his HP would be fairly low at this point.

16:26 - Yuan Shu's two best generals and it's not even close. These are the two you want to recruit after this battle.

25:54 - Finally using that Steed I've been hanging onto to recruit Ji Ling. I then make kind of a boner move when I use my last Gullwing to warp to Chang An, a place that doesn't sell Gullwings. I'll have to hoof it for the rest of the scenario but everything is in place at this point. The extra walking time gives me a chance to find Zhang Xun anyway.

31:21 - At set HP intervals the lifebars change in color and size. The first changeover happens at 500 HP. As you can see here though sometimes you can get one last battle in with the old lifebars. It'll be a long time before you'll see me "standing" on the bar again during an all-out, it's not until near the end of the game that they get this long again.

31:29 - I know the numbers are the same but the new orange bars sure don't look as nice when they're that short.

40:56 - Tong Xian is the second healing spell. My resources were kind of dwindling when I entered this cave full of spears, especially without a Gullwing for a quick exit. Learning the new healing spell though means now I can blow all of my TP on keeping my HP (or armies if you like) up. Level 13 here is also when Zhang Fei's HP passes 500, meaning that even without a local recruit the pink bars are gone forever.

48:31 - This is a worst-case scenario for general recruitment. You encounter the guy you want with a bunch of other officers, and at the end of the fight he flat out refuses. Ouch. Fortunately I run into him again a few battles later alone and he joins for a premium.

55:52 - This is the first major boss battle in which you have access to Power Pills. The opponents are surprisingly tactics-heavy which also means you can't easily hit them with spells, but it doesn't matter at this point. Just roll over them with criticals.

57:45 - You can let Yuan Shu go and he'll show up in a later boss battle. He's the exact same there and even less of a threat.
