Our let's play 5089 gameplay series continues with episode 2, where we see how to progress in 5089 - starting with storming and destroying one of the fabled "jester-hat" 5089 headquarters towers (aka fortresses) with the spiky violet roof, close to our orange base.
There is a green robot boss on the top floor of every 5089 headquarters tower, which once defeated sets off a chain reaction that soon destroys the violet headquarters tower you're standing in! This gives us conversion points, which automatically apply to the 5089 map and expands our influence. New terminals come on line, and we have access to terminals further away in dangerous territory.
5089 conversion points can also be achieved by destroying the neutral, large grey ships that sometimes spawn over your base.
We also see how to kill an X boss (a boss marked with a red X on your minimap) that forms the first in a series of increasingly tougher and more distant X bosses in 5089.
As well as conversion points and violet headquarters towers, in this let's play 5089 gameplay video we discover that failure means we need to toughen up our character with more and more skill points, so we take on some new quests, including a bot escort mission, a bot protection quest, a quest to separate an artefact at a workstation and a delivery quest.
Finally, we see what's inside the 5089 hatch. Is it the same as in 3089?
