Every attack can be evaded soooo this is where Kain, Freya and Shadow comes in. Shadow is the primary DPS and he gets bonus turns when he evades, which synergizes well with Kain and Freya.
Giving Kain and Freya 100% Crit from Sazh call ensures also that the orb is no longer any issue.
All that's left is to whittle down Sephiroth's HP!

I removed all speed passives on Kain and Freya to make them as slow as possible.
Leo LDCA on Freya and Cait Sith LDCA on Kain. If you don't have Cait, use Iroha LDCA.
Sazh LDCA on Shadow so that he can buff the entire party at the start.
3- turn Laguna friend is used just to get extra desperado damage at the start. Another option is to use Cissnei friend and Swap Kain out at the last 19% HP.
0:00 Phase 1 (100-79%)
Important : Always use Shadow S1 when his Fade to Black buff is about to expire. Its a very important buff.
Reset until Shadow goes first so that you can use Sazh base call to buff your party.
I swapped Freya out for Laguna to get desperado up. Then Spam AA on Laguna to get Freya back in.
If using Laguna, bring boss to phase 2 without giving boss a turn.
Use Shadow AA before phase 2.

I used all of Shadows LD except the last one, save that for later.
Desperado will burn out here but that's okay.
7:30 Phase 3 (49-0%)
At this point, Freya and Kain will come back down. I used summon mode to give them the room to jump back up.
Refresh Shadow LD buff when it expires.
Use Shadow AA before 19%.
