DFFOO [GL][Shinryu Extra Hard Raid] Avoiding first 2nd phase recast means less trouble
As always, iPAD recording aspect ratio is always scuffed to upload and I didn't want to keep transferring onto bluestacks on PC, so I kept it as is as opposed to making it larger and then crop out some of it. You wouldn't see the black letterbox is to the side if you don't go fullscreen on PC.
Always wanted Agrias and Yuna. No regrets piting Agrais while getting Yuna on the way, definitely better than piting the BT lol. Very rarely would I buy costumes, but I would do it for Yuna. Now the BRV gain warriors are starting to assemble on GL.
I started JP on the last day of the Exdeath cycle, so this is actually my first time approaching this fight and getting Yuna and Agrias with LDs in battle.
General Direction:
I didn't want to deal with the post-recast Shinryu so I opt for a more rush kill approach. I brought Seifer for opportunistic delays and his Scar of Destruction EX to shutdown the heavy hitting Shinryu attacks. Of course, there is also WoL's shield CAs to handle some of the dmg.
There is an instant turn rate for Shinryu mechanic in both phases.
The threat in the 1st phase is mostly Shinryu doing Fulgent Rain and the shutdown of HP recovery. It gets scary if you get hit and you are not allowed to heal, so I mostly alternate between Agrias CC and Seifer shutdown for the most part. I intend to save WoL's shield until the tail end of the first phase or even after second phase starts, but I popped it at the end just to on the save side.
The second phase has the old colour aura mechanic as the old Shinryu fight back in December. On top of that it uses Intimidate + Trinity at 85% (very odd threshold) and another one later. Intimidate puts debuff onto your party so I tried to save Yuna's 2nd LD use after that. I don't want to keep using too many Esuna which may quickly trigger the instant turn rate mechanic for Shinryu.
Trinity is VERY heavy hitting, so either have WoL or Seifer EX ready before that. I goofed a little bit with Agrais beforehand and used S1 during purple aura, which shuts down BRV and HP recovery lol.
In regards to coloured auras:
Yellow: prevents any forms of delays, so seifer either spam skills to charge EX or save skills if it is up already.
Purple: prevents BRV gain and HP recovery, so I waited until Shinryu was out of purple aura to use Yuna BT since it reduces both reduces Agrias and Yuna's dmg by a large margin,
Blue: Shinryu takes 0 BRV dmg, which is also not good for BT or post BT phase.
Green: Guaranteed hits and Shinryu recovers HP according to BRV dmg dealt, but generally this is a really good place to keep delay him and BT
Shinryu of course still has an orb, it ticks down if Shinryu has more than 25% of its mBRV but it happens after the recast. It can be quite a bit of a problem if it gained a lot of BRV and then put on a blue aura to prevent you from shaving. Also after its recast it gets quite a lot harder to shave Shinryu, so for convenience I just opt for killing it before it happened.
While I am not certain, at least I have seen the green aura before the recast, not the blue one. The less it happens the better, unless you are using someone like Porom.
I would say this stage is more about mechanics but quite different from the standardized beginning stages of Lufenia+. It is going to be interesting to see if it would be easier to redo those stages when I actually have character points and HA+ to spend on characters. Loving Agrias and Yuna a lot and I can't wait to put them alongside Y'shtola's BT+ for more BRV gain shenanigans.
On a side note, JP Seifer made me have a lot more appreciation and incentive to pull on Seifer on GL. I think his EX debuff has been quite relevant on both sides for quite some time since his LD release and EX extension II.
