[DFFOO JP]Against Logic, turtle run with Auron and Snow just for fun
In theory, Snow should not be used in this stage because bosses are immune to imperil.
In theory, Auron should not be used with Snow because they cover the same role and Auron would take away Snow's stacks when he covers him when the boss ST on Snow.
It is just fun to see if it would work so I did it anyways.
Also I must have clicked really quickly when I was doing Auron's summon board so he dodges alot lol, which in theory you want him to get hit as much as possible.
Putting the reasons why Snow should not be here aside, he actually works with Auron in certain areas:
1. Auron counter delays the target and would push Snow to the front in his off-turn, so Snow would get more off-turn LD attack in practice.
2. Snow still benefits from the melee resist down from Auron even if he cannot imperil the boss
3. Attacks that target all will trigger both of them. Even the boss's Brv suck at HP thresholds 29%/49%/79% would trigger Snow's stacks to go or Auron to counter
4. Their dmg reduction does work together (party-wise: Auron Debuff + Snow Aura)
5. Auron can take off ST attacks that inflict nasty debuffs off of Snow so Snow can act (higher DPT than Auron) e.g. Arc 3 Chapter 5 Pt 2 with the boss paralysis
6. Both of their off-turn attacks have great Brv shaving capabilities (Auron has more consistent Brv damage and counter frequency, Snow has more hits)
Together with Paine (middle), who reduces Brv dmg and Brv gain, you can eat 2 double red aura AoE attack without Paine or the middle character dying (~8k each time). As long as you don't all get broken and pushed all the way to the back too frequently, you can either use Snow's c65/Paine's c65 to get extra regen/regen again and heal up. Auron's counter pretty much keeps himself alive. Another complementary character that you can consider is Aphmau, whose LD also reduces HP damage taken and probably can turn manipulate into Snow for extra off-turn damage.
Definitely not the most efficient way to do it, but it is fun to see if they have the damage and damage reduction to eat the attacks head on and they did. The team ate so many red aura attacks that they alligators eventually relinquished their red auras and went back to normal. It came back whenever they met HP threshold though.
I tried this party with AoE spammy bosses like Arc 3 Ch 5 pt 2. The thing is though it takes longer and you need to maintain the orb actively.
Snow is really something else as a tank. He still put in work where he should not be.
