DFFOO [JP][En. Campaign MQ Series 2 Part 5] First time putting Machina and Rem together
The finale of the enhancement campaign mission quest series 2. This time it is about daggers and swords.
The stage involved is the very first Shinryu fight. Since stats remain the same, with today's character power it would be a cakewalk no matter what. Frankly thinking about weird comps or theme combos within the confines of 2 daggers and 1 sword is more challenging than the stage.
You can even treat it like a Lufenia stage without orbs and FR. Did it before and MQ without turn count and HP requirement means even more freedom for you to do weird things.
Same as before, the weapon types for Shinryu and Chaos are the same:
Chaos | 2D 1S
Lufenia | 1D 2S
Shinryu |Kain FRBT - Act 3 Ch 8 part 1 - Floating Eye x2 | 2D 1S
Just some quick reminder since it is easy to DPS them down anyway:
1. Boss FG gauge HP poison overtime, eventually get to 30% of your max HP per tick
2. Boss paralyses one character whenever it attacks and the character ends up with 50% HP or less. In FT, it straight up just 1HKO anyone below 50%.
This stage used to be quite troublesome when you need to be mindful of your HP, not many people charging FG and the 1HKO. The turn count certainly put a lot of pressure as well. Nowadays as long as you maintain a healthy party or repel enemy turns enough, you just roll through them really quickly.
I threw in Locke because of his special HP+ and since he is a physical attacker, he can enjoy Machina FR's 50% cap up. I tried Faris, Ignis and Thancred as well. They all pass with flying colours. So there is a lot of freedom as to what you can use here.
Honorable mention that Thancred can just save up BRV/HP+ to super charge Machina's FR HP bonus with a few consecutive turns, so you can have a nice burst when his turn comes up. It is kind of a fun alternate use of his mechanic.
Shame though you can't pull a full T0 team with Kurasame because it is 2D1S instead of 1D2S. Can't do something like Dorgann/Ardyn/Gabranth for some rebreaking action either. As much freedom as it goes, it still has boundaries for this piece of content.
My mind almost slipped and believed that this finale drops on the 5th and I don't know why.
