DFFOO [JP][En Camp. MQ series 2 part 3] Strago EX blasting fellow elder's stage bosses
I was testing Ursula BT + Vivi HP+, honestly it is way too powerful for this early stage and the challenge was actually too much DPS triggering threshold attacks left and right. 2 Fire+ and it was basically over, so toning it down and use Strago instead.
Series 2 part 3 revolves around staff and gun users.
Chaos | Lich + Anger Beast (flying lions) | 2S 1G|
Lufenia | Skull Dragon Soul | 1S 2G|
Shinryu | Fusoya FR event --- Grudge Lords x2 | 2S 1G|
Bosses are squishy but the thresholds can be tricky if there is just too much DPS with later characters.
Key recap of their gimmicks:
1. strong BRV dmg down and ATK down as FG goes up
You would notice a considerable amount of BRV dmg loss even with support characters in
2. Instant death attacks
Happens at 90/60/30%. They instantly warp to the front and would instantly kill one character if they get to move. Summon/BT to prevent this or paralyse them just like Shantotto IW. Handy Totto just got her FR, no?
If they don't get to use that move and the turn passes, they would go back to normal.
Another instant death comes from FG buffs. They get consecutive turns and if they act, they AOE kill everybody.
3. Drain slash
Along with blood sword (normal HP attack), they heal themselves with the HP dmg dealt. Difference is drain slash is a gravity one that sets your HP to 10% and is used at 70/50/30% HP thresholds. They won't kill you and MQ does not count HP dmg taken as a requirement for perfect, so you can largely ignore them.
Though if Aerith BT is involved, then beware that taking this while her golden frame buff is gone would instantly trigger her BT to dispel itself and heal you instead.
Other than that, they put on buffs, nasty debuffs on you and they actually hurt. In general, it is just easier to put them down and not let them be a nuisance by giving them turns.
Having Tottto paralyze them for the first threshold gives you some breathing room when you have too much DPS while you set up the scene and gather force.
In addition, Strago double rebreaks, Minwu turn deletion etc can help keep them at bay outside of threshold warp triggers.
3 down, 2 to go.
I am actually really curious if they would ask you to use whips for one, as 2/3 already got their FRs, but at the same time there are way more than enough weapon types for 5 quests.
