[DFFOO JP][Papalymo Raid Lufenia+]Non-synergy LD only Space Airline ft. Tifa, Cid Raines and Selphie
25Just messing around with some units that I seldom use. Was going to use Zell at first but saw Tifa there and I think I used her like once only when Aphmau LD came out. So I just slap Cid Raines along, whom I also haven't used since Auron's boss rush at the end of March.
Is Cid Raines still crazy?
Short answer, yes he is. If he is still doing those kind of numbers at the end with Selphie as sole support, he is crazy.
Apart from being an avid airline participant, Cid Raines is the embodiment of turn manipulation, BRV damage refund, delay, instant turn rate shenanigans.
All of this just fit this boss fight perfectly when the orb comes up. As the icing on the cake, his EX also cleanse + dispel +delay while battery the party for a launch. That basically means he alone can pretty much cover all your needs for this fight including dealing with the Hope manikin and his buffs.
This begs the question, what is he even getting for his Lv.90 awakening, which is very likely to come in August when his LC appears. Other than some BRV dmg, BRV gain and maybe buff extensions bundled in his EX extension, it does not seem he really need all that much to function.
Team synergy:
It seems that these three just compliment each other quite well. All of them launches and delays. Selphie provides the BRV gain up and mid/post launch battery refunds for all the launches. Tifa's and CidR's EXs have great damage and utility so Selphie boosting their recast means even more launches and timely dispels on the manikin's buffs. All 3 of them also have instant turn rate moves, so they can deal with the orb in some fashion. Selphie seemingly may have trouble with it, as it would seem the launch damage from others does not count towards the 300k mark. Even if all things fail, Cid can give Tifa a turn or he can use his HP attack then smash the orb himself with a follow-up turn.
The thing that this team is lacking is BRV dmg up and more defence down. Though even with minimalistic BRV gain up they were able to get the job done without BT. So Noctis friend did not get to board the space airline.
Really fun to find LD only teams and styles to smash the regular Lufenia+.
May also try to sneak in some initial Lufenia+ released characters to see to see how good they have been holding up.
