On February 27th 2019, India claimed that their mig-21 shot down a Pakistani F-16 during an aerial skirmish. Pakistan denied the Indian claim, and said that a JF-17 thunder shot down the Mig-21 and wing commander Abhinandhan was captured. Defense Minister of the time Nirmala Sitharaman claimed that F-16 was hit and pilot landed in Pakistani territory, where Pakistani villagers "mistakenly" lynched him to the death, assuming that he is an Indian pilot. Now this makes no sense, because fighter pilota wear a uniform, and there's a lot of details on the uniform, including one visible thing, that country's flag. Now think about it, if you see a guy in pilot's uniform, with U.S flag on it, would you even think for sec that he's a Russian pilot? So, the villagers who killed that Pakistani pilot were all blind? They didn't see the flag of their nation on that pilot's uniform? Also note that uniform also contains the name tag. This claim was completely baseless. So, if no pilot was lynched, it means no F-16 was shot down as well, it was a cover-up. Also no photos or videos are available of F-16s wreckage, the only visuals we have is the wreckage of Mig-21. Also note that the Mig-21 is a second generation Vietnam war era junk, while F-16 is the world's most successful 4th generation fighter jet.
