142This film carries a lot of similarities to Rosemary’s Baby. The main characters’ names are Mia and John which refers to Mia Farrow and John Cassavettes who starred in Rosemary’s Baby. In this film, the newborn is named Leah which is the name of one of the neighbors in Rosemary’s Baby. Both films have a very dramatic scene involving an elevator. And also, there is a scene in Annabelle where we see two murderers break in and go on a rampage, and one of their victims is named Sharon. This is a reference to Sharon Tate who was killed during the Manson murders, and she was Roman Polanski’s wife at the time. Roman Polanski actually directed Rosemary’s Baby.
