1,745Goyer originally had the idea to set this film much further in the future after Blade 2 in a timeline where vampires had accomplished world domination. Blade would end up being the last hope for humanity, and his vampire blood would explain his lack of aging. After pitching the idea, it was deemed too dark for audiences, and the idea was scrapped. Also, Wesley has less than 100 sentences in this movie, and this includes his one word liners. On top of this, he ended up suing the production company and Goyer for not being part of the production choices and having his time cut to favor Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel.
