18,798Hugh Jackman actually studied the wrong animal to prepare for his role as Wolverine. Originally, he studied wolves since he believed that his character alluded to this animal, but Bryan Singer actually had to explain that wolverines were an entirely different kind of animal. They even had to make three different types of claws for him. There were plastic, rubber, and steel ones made with over seven hundred individual blades made for Jackman and his four stunt doubles. Hugh’s physique also looks slightly different from scene to scene since he was only cast three weeks after principal photography started. This meant that he continued to work out on his own while the film was being shot.
