Did You Know In PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD’S END…
The goodbyes that the pirates give Elizabeth are actually mirror farewells of their greetings in The Curse of the Black Pearl. Barbossa calls her Mrs. Turner, and in the first film, he thought that she was, in fact, Miss Turner. Pintell says bye poppet, while his first words to her were ‘ello poppet. When Elizabeth comes to Jack, she tells him that it never would’ve worked out between them, and this is a direct mirror response to what Sparrow told her in the first film. Another interesting connection to the first film is the sword that Will made for Norrington in the original. In this film, Becket returns it to Norrington, who stabs Jones with it, and Jones takes it to use in the final battle. Jack knocks it out of his hand, it gets picked up by a soldier, and Jones takes it to kill him. Then, he stabs Will in the heart, and Will returns later with the sword around his waist.
