3After defeating Scorpiomon, the Chosen Children made for a hasty escape with Whamon into the sea to escape from MetalSeadramon, one of the 4 Dark Masters.
For now, it was time to keep their spirits up and search for a safe place that MetalSeadramon couldn't reach...
But... he was catching up to them all! It was time for Whamon to dive into the sea and throw them off. At least for now...
Izzy wanted Kari to use her whistle as a sonar for Whamon to throw the enemy off further, but he had to prepare his laptop for this move.

For this whole episode, you're leading it with Kari.
It's mainly because there are going to be SEVERAL oppotunities to raise her Bonding Rank with everyone else, since she and Gatomon joined the team so late into this anime's story.
In the first gathering, you can have potentially Kari raise her Bonding Rank with Mimi, Joe, Matt, and Izzy.

Izzy had finished preparing his laptop for Kari's whistle. She blow the whistle, and...
It allowed the team to see some tunnels that Whamon can go through to dodge MetalSeadramon's chase, including some holds that he can surface to into undersea caves.
But right now, you have to use Tai to figure out which tunnels Whamon should go through.

First choice at 6:06: Take the left tunnel.
Second choice at 6:41: Take the middle tunnel.
Do that, and you can reach an undersea cave you can explore for items and battles, once again as Kari.
In this first cave, along the way, you can raise Kari's Bonding Rank with T.K. When you're done, return to Whamon.

For the next tunnels:
First choice at 13:10: Take the right tunnel.
Second choice at 13:40: Take the left tunnel.
Third choice at 14:06: Take the left tunnel, again.
This should reach you to a second undersea cave. Going through here, you can potentially raise Kari's Bonding Rank with Mimi, Joe, and Sora.

Returning to Whamon again, for the choice at 22:27, take the right tunnel, this time!
This will finally bring the team back to the full surface, where Whamon and the others get to rest.
This will lead into another gathering where Kari may raise her Bonding Rank with Sora, Joe, Mimi, T.K., Matt, and Izzy. Basically everyone besides her big brother Tai.

Unfortunately, despite all of their efforts, MetalSeadramon managed to catch up to everyone, anyway!
Whamon was able to surface and then let everyone else out of him. He now planned to hold off MetalSeadramon for the kids as much as he could!
He was able to ram MetalSeadramon, but that barely did a scratch.
So MetalSeadramon counterattacked with his ULTIMATE STREAM!
In a single Energy Blast, Whamon was killed...
And now no one but the DigiDestined's Digimon were able to protect them from MetalSeadramon's wrath!

Once again, like with fighting Scorpiomon, you're REALLY gonna have to know your buffs and debuffs with the DigiPieces that can give you that for your Digimon.
Remember that buffs and debuffs in this game run on a time limit of turns. If I can’t apply them further after two, then that will still stall or refresh their time limit.
It is here where multi-hit attacks can show their true potential over single-hit attacks.
In this fight, I was able to have WarGreymon's Gaia Force (Terra Force) do 9999 damage. That's the cap damage of this game.
HOWEVER! If you buff his Attack twice, and then debuff MetalSeadramon's Defense twice, you can potentially make his Brave Tornado (Great Tornado) do EVEN MORE DAMAGE!
Each hit of a multi-hit is counted separately back-to-back, with each potentially becoming a Critical Hit on top of that. Each Brave Tornado hit does less damage separately compared to one Gaia Force hit, but altogether, the Brave Tornado hits can do a sum of OVER 9999!!!
To see what I mean in action, compare the Gaia Force’s damage at 31:15, and then see the Brave Tornado’s damage at 32:22, and moreso at 33:00!!!

MetalSeadramon of the Dark Masters was eventually destroyed thanks to the work of WarGreymon...
However... this was at the cost of losing Whamon, another one of the Chosen Children’s allies of the Digital World...
Each of the Dark Masters controls a portion of the Digital World, and MetalSeadramon's end meant that the ocean was now back to normal against Spiral Mountain.
If the rest of the Digital World is to turn back to normal, then the Chosen Children will have to defeat the remaining three Dark Masters...
But how many more friend and allies shall they lose from their efforts...?
