This was a pleasant surprise, just like 02 Beginning I had no idea that this was even in the pipeline. This is also a very different kind of dub comparison, as generally it's the same actors in both. A lot can happen in 25 years, and unfortunately some of the original voice actors have died since then.

Generally I say the original dub of Digimon, and the movie came out during a transitional period of dubbing. The time before belonged to Sailor Moon, and Pokémon Indigo League. Cultural references were removed, and censorship was a little heavy handed. Digimon had scenes censored as well, but it was firmly set in Japan and even explained some cultural references. I say transitional though, as the main goal wasn't so much to adhere to the original script, but the capture the essence of it, and appeal to American Child sensibilities. As such it's a rather unique time capsule.

You may be wondering why I split this up into 2 parts. The main reason for this, is so I could dedicate a whole video to 02's first movie. Out of all the movies that was the most chopped up and edited around. Plus, after seeing how much time it took to discuss the first 2 movies, I figured it would be better to not upload a 2 hour video.
