Microsoft Edge allows you to set a video background on the new tab page. This feature can make your browsing experience more dynamic and interesting, but it can also consume more system resources and bandwidth. If you want to disable or enable video background on Edge new tab page, you can use one of these methods:
- Use the Page Options button. This is the easiest method and it will let you switch between image and video backgrounds quickly. To use this method, follow these steps:
- Open a new tab in Edge (Ctrl + T).
- Click on the Page Options button with the gear icon at the top right corner.
- Select the Custom option for the page layout.
- Select Image or video of the day as the background to enable video background, or select any other image option to disable video background.
- Re-open the new tab page to see the changes.
- Use the Edit Background button. This method will let you customize your background image or video more precisely. To use this method, follow these steps:
- Open a new tab in Edge (Ctrl + T).
- Pause the video background if it is already running.
- Click on the Edit Background button at the bottom left corner, or click on the gear icon and then click on Edit Background.
- Select None to turn off the background video and audio, or select a video from the available options to turn on video background.
- You can also upload your own image or video to use as the background.
