Over the last few years, there has been a MASSIVE increase in the visibility of the board gaming hobby. Movies, TV shows, blogs, and other publications have been touting the fun and excitement of more complex hobby games, and I wanted to go in and discuss a bit!

As I've discussed in some of my previous videos, the board gaming hobby has seen a massive growth in the last few decades. With the advent of BoardGameGeek, blogs, massive gaming YouTube channels and reviewers, and more recently even references in movies and TV shows. There have been major network TV shows that show not only board games themselves, but the board game culture - very recently by South Park and, to an extent, The Big Bang Theory, such that it was. There's even a manga/anime that's all about board gaming!

With that in mind, I wanted to discuss some information about how gaming has been depicted in the media, particularly more recently. More importantly, I wanted to talk a bit about what I see as far as how this is good and bad for the hobby, as well as what I'm HOPING comes out of it all. That said, I'd love to hear what YOU all have to say. What're thoughts on seeing games in the media? Do you want to see more? Are you worried about how it'll affect the hobby as a whole?
