Disney made some questionable decisions with this one. (Cruella Review)
826"Cruella" is Disney's attempt to humanize one of their most dastardly villains, who wanted to kill innocent baby animals for her own pleasure by making them into a fur coat. However this origin story is basically a completely different character. Cruella is now a vengeful but misunderstood person who was driven to the brink by circumstance after her mother was killed when Dalmatians pushed her off a cliff. (It's as silly as it sounds.) But she's no longer interested in fur and is apparently more of an animal lover now. Roger and Anita show up though they don't do much. They've also been race swapped which isn't surprising although there are original characters to this film that probably could have been used for diversity but I digress. Horace and Jasper are now basically her brothers which makes her mistreating them worse. But the weirdest part of this movie is that they decided to make Pongo and Perdita litter mates. So according to this movie, 101 Dalmatians just got really awkward. Thanks a lot, Disney.
