DIY emotional intelligence wheel for #classrooms and at home
It's #emotionalintelligence #craft time!
Materials: 2 paper plates, scissors, 1 split brass tack, a ruler or straight edge, colored pencils/markers/crayons, 1 pencil or pen
Steps:
1. (optional) cut the edges off of 2 paper plates
2. Use a straight edge to draw intersecting lines dividing one plate into 6-8 sections
3. use a circular object to make a circle in the center
4. write familiar emotion words within the inner circle sections
5. Divide outer circle sections into 4+ segments each
6. fill outer circle with more specific words for each category
7. color!
8. Cut a triangle out of the second plate
9. use scissors to make a hole in the middle of each plate and attach the two with a split brass tack
This craft helps increase emotional intelligence by helping us get more specific in the words we use to describe and #communicate our emotional experiences. The process of #creating your own wheel allows you to really think about the words you include. The finished product is a tool that can be used time and again to communicate feelings and understand your #emotions
