DJay 95 Plays: Marvel Super Heroes (Arcade) Longplay
3Hey players, DJay here with a new longplay on an arcade fighting game of the mid-90's, Marvel Super Heroes.
Description of the game:
Marvel Super Heroes is a 2D fighting game by Capcom released in arcades in October 1995 on the CPS-II hardware. Home ports include the Sega Saturn and PlayStation in 1997 and on PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 via PSN & XBOX Live Arcade in September 2012. It is the third Capcom game overall to feature Marvel Comics characters and the second Marvel Comics fighting game, after X-Men: Children Of The Atom in 1994. Anita from Capcom's Darkstalkers series is a playable secret character in the game (Japanese version only) and can summon Akuma and Mei-Ling in her attacks. The mechanics for the Infinity Stones have being reused in Marvel VS Capcom Infinite.
The story of the game is based on the events that occurred in the Infinity Guantlet storyline of the Marvel Universe.
Both heroes and villains alike are on the quest to hunt down the Infinity Stones, artifacts of divine power that when equipped on the Infinity Guantlet, it allows the user to channel each of their powers. Thanos is also on the lookout for these Infinity Stones and seeks to use them for destruction of the entire universe. The heroes and villains all race for the stones, but must also fight Thanos and free the other heroes that have being turned to stone.
Just like the other Capcom fighting games and X-Men: Children Of The Atom, the game features 10 playable heroes and villains (3 are unlockable including 4 X-Men characters and 6 other Marvel heroes. After selecting a character, players must fight 8 opponents first against 6 randomized opponents, against Doctor Doom in the penultimate match and finally against Thanos. Players must drain the opponent's health to zero by using combos to maximize the damage inflicted. Introduced in the game are the 6 Infinity Stones, each with different properties. When used, they either give a damage boost or recover a certain amount of damage taken, but can only used once per match. Stones can be knocked out of the wielder's possession by using some attacks or by knocking the opponent out. Attacks can fill up the Hyper guage and when completely filled, a Hyper Combo can be performed to maximize damage.
