4Hey players, DJay here with a new beat em up longplay on an arcade exclusive, Vendetta/Crime Fighters 2. This is the international censored version of the game being showcased.
Description of the game:
Vendetta (Crime Fighters 2 in Japan) is a beat em up arcade exclusive by Konami released in arcades in July 1991 on the Konami X-Men based hardware. No home ports were released until July 2021 were it was available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch via Arcade Archives. It is the 2nd installment in the Crime Fighters series after the 1989 original, although there are no connections between the 2, and followed by Violent Storm in 1993. The Cobras members all resemble specific celebrities, Blood resembling Wesley Snipes, Hawk resembling Hulk Hogan, Boomer resembling Jean-Claude Van Damme and Sledge resembling Mr. T. The game was censored in the international market due to a specific enemy wearing inappropriate clothing and perverted dogs who proceed to perform rather controversial actions.
Dead End City is a fictional city occupied by the Dead End gang, a parade of violent criminals. Their enemies, the Cobras, were the only people standing in their way on their warpath. Mysteriously, they kidnap one of their members, Kate, Hawk's protégé, and hold her hostage. Their leader, Faust, seeks leadership of all street gangs to gain full control over the city. Now, the Cobras must fight their way and rescue Kate.
Playing similarly to its 1989 predecessor, players select between 4 Cobra members and must proceed to beat down enemies across 5 stages. After beating 5 of them and saving Kate, they will engage in an extra stage which is a boss rush against every boss they defeated along the way. Enemies can be beaten up by using melee attacks, using punching, kicking or attacking with weapons. Throughput each stage, there are crates containing weapons or food. Weapons include a bat with barbed wires, chains, a shotgun and a knife, all of which can do some extra damage (the shotgun can instantly kill some enemies or inflict massive amounts of damage towards heavier enemies.) If players lose some of their health, they can pick up food items to replenish it. Some items like barrels, especially those lit on fire, crates and a bag of cement can be thrown (the bag can stun enemies temporarily) and inflict damage. Sustaining too much damage until the health bar reaches zero costs you a life. After clearing every stage, including the extra stage, the game loops again on an amped up difficulty.
Regain control of Dead End City and restore peace by taking the Dead End gang put of the picture.
