Controversial but I was asked to talk about it, DLCs are Eligible to Win GOTY at Game Awards 2024. My personal opinion on the best release of 2024 is Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. I do not think this should be eligible to win Game of the Year however. There are a ton of great games that released this year that will not get the attention they deserve and I think this could bring backlash to the Game Awards show. I don't know what there isn't a Best DLC/Expansion pack category for games to be nominated for at the Game Awards. Cyberpunk 2077 won best ongoing game last year partly due to the Phantom Liberty DLC being so great. I am curious to see how this plays out
