A compilation of the known ways you can glitch the visual effects of the Devil Trigger-mode (hereafter referred to as "DT").

I: DT-mode with no effects. First, heed the fact that if Dante is in DT-mode as a checkpoint activates, upon retry the game displays the DT effects for a second or so before making them disappear. If you activate DT for real this time, the game will shut off the effects of your DT-mode along with the glitchy DT effect residue.

This way you can enjoy the benefits of DT without the storm clouds or palette change. However, as usual, DT tends to shut off when you walk into cutscenes, making this a short-lived joy at best.

II: normal mode with both DT visual effects (stormy clouds + palette change). Find a Divinity Statue and examine it right after activating DT. If you enter training room now, chances are that the DT actually starts inside - a rarity since normally the game disables DT while in training room. After you've had your fun, disable DT and exit the training room. Now you are in normal mode again, but the game forgot to leave the DT-effects on...

During this glitch, Dante is followed by storm clouds and an odd palette wherever he goes. You can even bring these effects inside cutscenes and the game won't mind. A pretty cool effect to be honest. But it goes away if you manually activate DT, enter a secret mission or retry.

III: normal mode with DT storm clouds. This variation was first seen in XSZ105's video:

Like I mentioned, being in DT-mode as a checkpoint activates can leave a short graphical residue of DT if you retry from a checkpoint. But at some checkpoints, if you retry from main menu instead, you get a whole new glitch effect and the DT storm clouds will stay on indefinitely. The effect is basically the same as in the 2nd variation, but your visibility is much, much better.
