As a FFXIV player from Australia I still have massive connectivity issues with FFXIV servers, bad server lag, high latency, constant disconnects, and no data center hopping seemed to resolve my problems. So I had to give into forking out a few extra bucks and signing up for a VPN service.

In this video I'll comment on the VPN service provider choice I've made, and why I thought Surfshark VPN was a better choice for my personal needs than CyberGhost, ExpressVPN, NordVPN or my good old VPN Tunnel.

Obviously your mileage will vary, or maybe you're lucky enough to live on the same continent as the data center that you're connecting to. For the rest of us - Oceanic players and those from South America - VPN might just be what would make this game enjoyable rather than barely playable.
