Donkey Kong Country - The two first areas & bosses! (SNES/Super Nintendo) - 1st console game I owned
I'm playing the first two areas and beating the first two bosses of the game Donkey Kong Country for the SNES/Super Nintendo, the game is the first game out of three games released for the system and was released in 1994. Me and my sister did receive this game together with the console back in 1996 and it was our first ever console game.
So I've finished this game at least three to four times in the past together with my twin-sister, friends and such. I believe I were like 7 years-old when I played this game with my Sister and friends, then later I played it with a different schoolmate back in like 5th grade as that mate also owned a copy of the game but had never managed to beat it because he didn't know about the save-areas.
Alright, the game is a platformer by RareWare and published by Nintendo. Unlike the Super Mario games this game relies a lot more on precision mashing and clicking a button at the right moment to succeed in a stage. Certain stages are easy and others are very frustrating like the railway stage where you are riding in a wagon.
In 1997-1998 I believe that we did get the 3rd game in the series that we also finished. But I've never played the 2nd game in the series as a kid. That's the one title that I have yet to play and it's the most difficult one according to many. Unlike the Mario-games Donkey Kong Country is much more difficult in certain stages because if you don't time a jump right you lose.
It's a great game though with nice sprites for its time, awesome music and good unique gameplay. I did like this game more than Mario as a kid.
