FINAL FANTASY VII PSX/PS1/PSP - Sephiroth MOD Part 6- The SHINRA Building (Voice Recorded!)
I'm playing Final Fantasy VII for the PSX/PS1/PSP on my computer using the EPSXE-emulator. Thanks to the Emulator I can easily record using the built-in NVIDIA Shadow Play-recorder of my Windows 7 gaming computer.
Alright, so the FF7 game has been modded with the "Sephiroth Patch V2" and is essentially a "Sephiroth Mod" for the console version of the original game. The mod changes Cloud Strife into Sephiroth, Barret Wallace into Dyne, Tifa Lockhart into Elena of the Turks and Aerith into Snow/Jenova. The mod is also changing the stats of the game and certain limit breaks and attacks making it very unique. Not every model is replaced so kid Clound etc might still be Cloud - only the main field models and battle-models have been replaced. The game is now harder to play because of the increased difficulty of the enemy units.
The emulator also allows better sound than in the original PSX-game, and it allows enhanced graphics. So I originally had this version on a CD for the PS2 but I couldn't load any saved games (and my PS2 is chiped) because they would get corrupted. I believe the mod only works on the NTSC American version of the PSX - and it will require the PSX memory cards. When I played on the modified PS2 the mod worked but it were impossible to load any saved games on the memory cards. You could save the game, but you couldn't load the saves because they ended up in a modified corrupted format.
On the PSP (Playstation Portable) using Custom Firmware the mod worked similarly fine but unlike on the PAL modified PS2 the PSP could actually load saved games. I tried to play directly from the PSP in a previous video and the graphics were clearly worse. So on the Emulator the mod also works playing either on Android or on the computer. My judgment is that it's more worth it to play on the computer than on the PSP due to an easier time recording the game while playing - and with the much improved graphical quality.
There seems to be some bugs using the emulator that aren't in the PS2/PSP-version - namely the moving screen when battles start, or a few other missing animations. The Sephiroth Patch V2 also doesn't work as described, as it does have a bug when Sephiroth jumps off the train (no visible jump) or when Sephiroth is sitting down and when he is moving down ladders - he ends up running when climbing up and down ladders, while he is standing instead of sitting on chairs etc.
The cretaor of the mod said that this would be fixed in the V2-patch update but I did patch the game and it still had the issue. Not sure why it didn't work as the patch said V2.
The creator of the mod goes by the name Jeet over at the Qhimm Forums.
Here is a link to his thread with the mod and everything - beware that the older version of the mod might be in the link found there. You might need to find his Youtube-channel to find the link to the V2 patch which is a few months more recent.

I'd recommend playing this on the EPSXE PSX Emulator when recording, and playing it on the same Emulator on an android phone when moving around - you can also use the PSP as the game works fine there as well and is great when you're moving a lot.
Playing on the modified PS2 is not recommended, unless you have NTSC/American PSX memory cards.
You can also play it on the NTSC/American Playstation.
