Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (BFG Edition) playthrough Part 3 Final
And the game falls apart a bit on the last stages. There's a few places where the player can jump to that only cause trouble if you do. You can fall out of the map even at one point! Someone wasn't paying enough attention when making the maps. And the final boss doesn't give any indication that what you're doing is having any impact, at least not until it smash cuts to the end.
I can't help but compare this to The Reckoning - which was the point of doing these expansion packs back to back. The Reckoning had really good level design, the devs made places and pathways to jump through intentionally, not accidentally that leave you breaking maps. The additions, new weapons and enemies, were balance. This expansion? Not so much. The super shotgun is massively overpowered, and one of the new enemies is just brutal. Not to mention that artifact that gives you the ability to slow down time, do more damage, AND become invulnerable all at once, with LOTS of 'ammo' available on the maps? It's too much. So yea, I can't fully recommend this expansion pack. I mean, if you have the BFG Edition, which came with it, then by all means play it. I wouldn't say avoid it. But I wouldn't go out of my way to play it again. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
