And we're done. again. There's a lot of bad design elements in this game, particularly with the branching paths. Even after beating both paths, there are apparently still some stages locked. There's still content I haven't seen. And I'm not going to. Because at this point it becomes a hunt of going back through each branching level and trying different options until new levels appear. And in a much better game that might be appealing, in this that's just a disaster.

There's also the issue where the game was very clearly designed that you go through the bad karma path first, then the good karma path. The bad karma path just.... ends. With a message telling you to try the other path. And that's it. There's some good jokes still, but overall, that's an awful way to end it. The apocalypse ending only happens in the good path, the whole Hugo Chavez part is good path only. Which is why the good path made some references to the bad karma path, but not vice versa either.

Never assume your players are going to make a specific choice when given a choice. Hell, you're a lot safer assuming the players won't take the path you want them to. Design your game accordingly.

It was worth going back and making sure I looked at the other side, while memories were still fresh. It opened up some new elements to discuss. But I am glad I am done with this game. I even went back and looked at the free roaming mode, and my god this game fails miserably there. The sandbox aspect was one of the things that made Postal 2 so good. And this game doesn't even come close. Bottom line, if you like Postal 2... play Postal 2. This is not for you. And if you don't like Postal 2, this is really not for you. In fact, this game isn't for you. RWS was right to warn you away. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
