The whole point of the side streams was to get a chance to play longer games and not take up the time of my main stream. After Magna Carta: Tears of Blood, I didn't want to have a game that was taking up week after week on its own. But I have countless old RPGs to play. Old PC games, some PSX and PS2 titles, and even at least one Gamecube title are all on the lineup. But I wanted to start with an origin. I wanted to look at the first Elder Scrolls game. I wanted to look at Arena.

This game has no aged well. Not at all. But that's to be expected from a game this old. And one this ambitious. Today, Bethesda is known for their massive, sprawling open world RPGs. But this was the beginning of that all. And the scope of this game really is remarkable for its time. Hell, the size of the world is remarkable for today. I honestly wasn't sure what to think of this game, I started with Daggerfall. I had no idea going in what kind of engine it used, and if it would be open world or not.

So this is the beginning of what is going to be a long, and probably painful, quest. I should point out that while I do love RPGs... I'm more of a JRPG player. Final Fantasy and the like. This? These early PC RPGs? These are a whole other breed of monster. And one that I really have not tackled that much. I've tried many of them, but I don't know if I ever finished any of them. They all ended up giving me some super obtuse puzzle, or no clear path where to go. It's time to correct that...

These episodes will be uploaded to YouTube the day they are made, rather than waiting for the whole batch at once. Because I have NO idea how long I will be banging my head against the wall for these long plays. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
