Doom and Doom 2 (Amiga) - A Review - by LemonAmiga.com
138To kick off our 3D and SEU's Playguide series, here is a Play of Doom and Doom 2 using the ADoom CD, and an emulated PPC AGA setup. I never got to play this on a real Amiga back in the day, and the CPU requirements are pretty steep, but its possible to play this in Low Res mode very well even on an 030. Lets see if this is still fun!, or whether its an Amiga killer.

I've had a few comments saying the music is bad on this video. In truth I tried maybe 3 or 4 different setups, on a number of occastions, before I found something that even worked. Most things I tried just locked up the system. I found this CD on the EAB file server, and I tried installing it, but it didnt work. I then tried to run this from the CD package and it worked. I didnt even notice the game wasnt even full screen at the time, but now I see the default config of the CD wasnt ideal. At least I managed to get this running, unlike Wipeout.
This was the second trial is my new Editor Keys microphone after the Pal vs Ntsc video. I have to process the sound more due to it being a lot bassier than before, but at least there is no background hiss with this, and so nothing to filter out. Unfortunately, my system has developed an issue whereby it will only record 60 seconds of narration in one go. This is the same if I record on anything, and must be some kind of codec issue. This is really annoying as it means I have to keep all comments down to just a few lines.
Last year I was 'in front' with the playguides by several shows, but now these are being made week by week. I'm also working to finish series 3 of the Lemon C64 guides, so this is also using up a lot of time, but I feel this is something I want to do.
