Doom: The Dark Ages - 150% Speed - Nightmare 100% [No HUD]
Another playthrough to show off 150% speed, I don't think I want to mess around with 500% damage to player and 50% damage to demons etc combined with 150% speed, though I do appreciate a new doom game that can be very difficult if one so chooses.

Video is segmented like the last one, mostly different segments I've recorded over the last few days, the first 6 levels I think may have been before a patch which increased the difficulty, so I probably get away with things I shouldn't have. I would probably not play like this on ultra-nightmare as I'd never get through it alive, so lots of unnessacary risks taken here. I tried playing a bit on normal speed afterwards and I felt like Neo in the matrix, not sure if I can go back.
The weapons are a little bit better balanced than I initially thought, far from perfect, but better than 2016 and eternal, I still mostly resort to SSG here because I like the close combat, but even the grenade launcher which I thought was the worst has quite some useful properties and still deals good damage. Could also be that playing at 150% speed just makes weaker weapons feel a bit better because you're a bit more worried about surviving than maxing out damage per second. The twin barrel plasma is a weapon I should be using a lot more to get that damage buff on demons, then switch afterwards, but it's not easy to say how the lightning spreads and you want to avoid the long weapon switch animation sometimes to not complicate things.
Some glitches are extremely frequent in certain areas, getting off the dragon often results in the shield just completely missing, there's something about ancestral forge that consistently makes the shield impossible to raise for deflect, but it feels like it might happen at any time. Then there's the shield not being able to be thrown, weapons switching not working at all, the melee input buffer and other things that really makes things rougher than it needs to be. I don't know if these things are just more frequent on 150% speed, they feel like they are, but I could very likely be wrong, no idea.
Melee also feels kind of bad past the first level and until you get the mace, it takes me back to glory kills in doom 2016 were you would just avoid it completely because you leave yourself so vulnerable when you use it. I'll see the projectiles coming and combined with slow-mo I can only watch as I'm locked into the melee animation even though I have so much time to react. It just feels bad that there's nothing I can do to avoid the damage, though most of this issue might just be from the unintended melee input buffer or whatever.
The direction damage is coming from indicator is a bit distracting, this information is useless to me, if the damage is not coming from what's in front of me then it's coming from behind. No hud doesn't disable them and they show up even when I am not taking damage.
The biggest annoyance is however the shield bash being activated when I am not holding right click, and the window where left click activated it after letting go of right click seems to increase with slowmo, this is absurd, I initially thought this was all my fault, but after testing it for 5 seconds it was obvious it's just how the game works.
Some other minor annoyances is the agaddon hunter, I've approached him from his left side while he was in his shield bubble and it was completely impossible to see him raise his right arm ready to throw a wave projectile, so by the time I see it it was impossible to react to it. Then there's the undodgeable cosmic baron ring attacks. I've also had fodder just spawn behind me while fighting and landing crazy damage which feels a bit unfair.
Anyways as I mentioned in my last video I think the game is amazing, I just hope these game issues that I have gets fixed at some point.
