https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/jenesis Where would doom mapping and music composure be without someone like James Paddock (Jimmy)? His doomwiki page is full of projects he's led and also contributed to, and with every project he's done, consistency is one thing Jimmy nails everytime and this 2011 megawad is no different.

Jenesis was released on November 27th 2011 and was given a winner spot at that year's cacoawards, A 32 map megawad its focus was to bring the memories and concepts of Memento Mori & Memento Mori II, Alien Vendetta, Scythe, Hell Revealed and Requiem together to form a megawad that plays with nostalgia and has modern looking retro maps while also being another of Jimmy's speedmapped megawads like Deathless.

The things about Jenesis I love is that Jimmy never holds your hand nor leaves you poor and on the street with a general flow of difficulty along with usage of Boom traps you'd expect from other wads, ammo and health supply is good and you never struggle with survival unless you aren't seeking out any items off the beaten path, In addition the soundtrack is full of original songs by Stewboy and Jimmy himself and being a megawad that uses midi covers of songs such as Under the Waves by Pendulum. Last few maps will eat you alive if you don't respect the layout nor enemy placement but Jenesis embodies everything that makes a good megawad.
