Double Level Up Trick in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
4,595In Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the SNES, there's an easy bug you can exploit to essentially trick the game into giving you two level ups after one battle.
Certain Battlefield areas will reward you with bonus experience after you clear all ten battles of the battlefield. However if your experience required for the next level is less than the bonus experience awarded for clearing the battlefield, the game will level up your character twice upon clearing the battlefield.
In this example, LEMON needs 53 experience to level up. The battlefield gives 54 bonus experience upon completion. When LEMON finishes the last fight in the battlefield, he earned 120 experience from the enemies, which leveled him up once. Then, the game failed to properly recalculate the experience needed for the next level up, so it still thinks he only needs 53. Therefore, when the battlefield gives 54 bonus experience, LEMON levels up again.
This glitch is pretty useless, however, since leveling in this way means that the experience required for the NEXT level up will be the total of the two previous levels. So in this example, LEMON abused this glitch to reach level 8 early, but regardless of whether he uses the glitch or not, he will still need 14,418 total experience to reach level 9.
So in the long run, using this glitch makes no difference, unless you use it to get to the maximum level maybe?
