How to get the Hadouken Upgrade in Mega Man X - Retrogaming Easter Eggs #shorts
In Mega Man X for the SNES, there's a secret upgrade capsule that equips X with the ability to throw a Hadouken just like Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter. The Hadouken deals massive damage to any enemy it hits (32 damage!). It's kind of complicated to find, though, so in this episode of Retrogaming Easter Eggs, I'm going to show you how to get the Hadouken in Mega Man X, and I'm going to make it as easy as possible.
First, you will need to collect every other upgrade in the game. You need all 8 heart tanks, all 8 bosses defeated, all 4 sub tanks, and all 4 capsule upgrades (that is, the legs upgrade, the Buster upgrade, the armor upgrade and the helmet upgrade).
Then, head to Armored Armadillo's stage, and collect extra lives until you have at least 5. The best way to do this is to find the Batton enemy, who tends to drop extra lives easily. You can find him toward the beginning of the level, so it shouldn't take you too long.
Then, proceed through to the end of the level, but on the last spiky minecart car thing, laungh yourself to the top of the cliff above the boss doors. It's the ledge that has a large energy pellet on top. Stand on the top of this cliff, then fall to the left into the pit and die. You will respawn at a checkpoint about two-thirds of the way into the level.
Now, go back to the top of that cliff, stand on the ledge, fall off and die, and respawn again. The goal is to get to that ledge a total of five times.
On the fifth and final trip to the ledge, if you have full health, there will be an Upgrade Capsule waiting for you. Dr. Light will be dressed like Ryu from Street Fighter, and he will give X the Hadouken Upgrade.
You will be able to fire Hadoukens by pressing quarter circle forward, shoot. That is, hold the down arrow, then slide your thumb to either the right or left arrow and press shoot to launch the attack. This can only be performed at full health, but it will absolutely destroy bosses and other enemies.
Note that your password will not save the Hadouken upgrade, so if you enter your final password, you'll need to execute this method to find the Hadouken all over again.
