Extra Jumps and Dashes in Midair in Mega Man X3 (SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
Whoa, a useful glitch on A Wild Glitch Appears! In Mega Man X3, there's a technique called the Neon Jump that allows Mega Man to execute multiple midair jumps and dashes. Using this technique you can reach platforms and areas that are normally not even accessible with the Gold Armor or Leg Chip Enhancement.
To perform this Neon Jump technique, you will need the Buster upgrade and the Legs upgrade. These can be found in Neon Tiger's level and Blizzard Buffalo's level respectively.
Charge your Mega Buster so that X is holding two charged shots, then release the first charge. Then, jump and use a midair dash to propel yourself upward. Then, during your upward midair dash press Shoot and Jump again at the SAME TIME (in the video I said you want to press both of these inputs toward the top of your midair dash, but I am now realizing that the optimal time for this step is toward the beginning or middle of your upward midair dash. Either way works, but earlier timing might allow for greater vertical height since more of your momentum is transferred this way).
That last step should have allowed you to jump in midair, which is normally not possible. You've already achieved some extra height if you've performed this step accurately. But! Now your midair dash is refreshed, so you can dash in midair an additional time. So in this example, after the extra jump, I used one more midair dash upward, and I was able to grab the Armor Upgrade without having to use the Gravity Well ability.
Furthermore, if you've acquired the Buster Chip Enhancement or the Gold Armor, you can use this technique to gain even more midair jumps and dashes. Since either of these enhancements allows you to store multiple X Buster charges, you can simply midair dash, Jump and Shoot, midair dash, Jump and Shoot, midair dash, Jump and Shoot, midair dash, Jump and Shoot, etc. until you run out of Arm Cannon charges.
And before anyone asks, yes this trick works in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection.
