So, after messing around on the wounded coast, we then head out to Sundermount to find something for the Herbalist but ended up having a rather hard time finding a particular item (which, yes, is the Varterral’s heart). What I didn’t realize at the time, and what I will no doubt be yelled at in the comment section, is that the only one place to get this item but we won’t be able to get to it till we start/finish Merrill’s companion quest. I spend a while going up and down this stinking mountain looking for something that I won’t be able to even see till a story quest which was rather frustrating. That all being said, I am kind of happy that I did go up the mountain since we got to fight a whole bunch of people/creatures. There is also a min-boss that I got to fight with at the top of the Mountain that I don’t know if I did in my personal playthrough or how it will affect the ending (if at all). Not a complete waste of time but I was still frustrated that we couldn’t find the item; I would’ve liked the game to tell me that I couldn’t find the piece till later instead of just sending me back to the mountain and have me stress over where I missed this item.
