In the latest Dragon Ball Daima Trailer, It was revealed a key detail about Goku’s new "mini" form. Shrunk down to a much smaller version of himself, thanks to a conspiracy involving the Dragon Balls, many fans are wondering just how powerful the Z Fighter will remain in a child's body. Despite his reduced size, Goku can still transform into a Super Saiyan, which raises the question: can he also access other transformations, like the powerful Ultra Instinct?

As a reminder, Goku learned to use Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power. He used this new form to take on Jiren from Universe 11 and refined the transformation in his battles against the wizard Moro, the bounty hunter Granolah, and Gas. While Goku has mastered various versions of Ultra Instinct, he still has a long way to go, especially after the reveal of Black Frieza, a new transformation that makes Frieza stronger than both Goku’s Ultra Instinct and Vegeta’s Ultra Ego.

Can Mini Goku in Dragon Ball Daima use Ultra Instinct?

Considering when Dragon Ball Daima takes place in the timeline, it’s unlikely Goku will tap into Ultra Instinct to reverse his miniature form. Dragon Ball Daima occurs after Kid Buu’s defeat but before Goku and the other Z Fighters meet Beerus and Whis, meaning they haven’t yet discovered transformations like Ultra Instinct or the powers of the gods. At most, Goku might transform into Super Saiyan 3, which was the most powerful form he could access early in Dragon Ball Super during his fight with Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe Seven.

While the chances of seeing Goku in his Ultra Instinct form in Dragon Ball Daima are slim, the anime promises plenty of action and challenges in this new phase of the story, with Goku in his mini form facing obstacles in a completely different way.
