After escaping Majin Buu's explosive attack, Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Piccolo head off to search for any remaining survivors. After spending almost an hour of taking down some Super Saibamen in West City, they managed to track down Dende along with Mr. Satan. Just then, Buu appears and demands a rematch with Gotenks. As Goten and Trunks fuse and transform into Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks once again, two blobs slide down from Buu's back and sneak up toward Gotenks and Piccolo to ensnare them. Buu then proceeds to absorb them, taking on a new transformation with greater power and intellect. Gohan tries to take on the newly powered up Super Buu, but soon finds himself outclassed as he struggles to keep up with him. Having watched the battle from his crystal ball, the Elder Kai comes up with plan to stop Buu, but it involves giving up his own life to revive Goku...
