Dragon is Dead is a promising new released hack-and-slash action platformer with roguelike progression and RPG systems in development. The presentation is stunning with 2D-pixel art graphics. Dragon is Dead plays like a grittier, heavier Skul: The Hero Slayer, another excellent action roguelite. You travel from room to room, able to advance once you’ve dealt with all the monsters and claimed your choice of reward from the giant chests that spawn. Before each run, you can buy goods from shops in town, and you’ll run into more vendors in between some levels. When you die, you’ll start back from the beginning, keeping only your runes and equipment. Levels, experience, artifacts, and skill tree progress are all reset. There are currently hundreds of piece of equipment of multiple rarity levels that grant different bonuses. Dragon is Dead seems to me like a game that when it comes out of Early Access and is completed its going to give a lot to talk about, even maybe for sequels or visual novels because the potential is in plain sight.
