We are currently in Chapter 1: Cantlin. Previously, Davilas defeated the chapter boss, the Golem. He restored the Ancient Emblem and used it to restore light to Cantlin. Now, he will carry out a couple of challenges before finishing the chapter.

First, Davilas works to build the Cantlin Garden. The garden can be built around one of the ponds near Cantlin, but this will not contribute to the base's score. So, Davilas channels a waterway to Cantlin. It is a bit complicated because the water is a bit below the level of the base. This means that he has to excavate a bit of ground within the base itself.

The player earns the trophy "Superior Decorator" for placing 3,000 items (time 7:38).

Once the space is excavated, it is time to plant things. The Cantlin Garden requires any five plants, such as Medicinal Plants; any ten flowers, such as Milkblossoms; eight water blocks; a bench; a Plumberry Tree; and a Brazier. Like any other room, it must also be closed in by walls at least two blocks high and secured with a door.

In the process, he gets a Botanical Garden, which requires a Bench, 10 flowers, 5 plants, and a light source. The Botanical Garden increases HP recovery by 1. He also gets a Flower Garden, requiring a Bench, 5 flowers, and a light source. In addition, he gets a Grassy Garden, which requires a Bench, 5 plants, and a light source.

To get a Plumberry Tree, Davilas must chop down a Plumberry Tree and plant a seedling in the room. Then, he must wait a couple of days for the tree to grow. It will not grow if you do not leave some space above the garden.

When Davilas has rested a couple of days, he gets credit for the Cantlin Garden (time 19:23). If built within the confines of town, it increases the town's score by 3,000 points. Well worth the trouble.

Davilas heads to the swamp in the south of the island. Careful about the poison water; it will sap your HP as you wade through it.

In the southeast of the island, Davilas can find minute quantities of Gold amid the Poisonous Peat (time 21:25). He learns how to make a Naughty Night Light. The Naughty Night Light requires 1 Ruby, 1 Silvery Sludge, and 1 Gold.

Davilas uses a Chimaera Wing to return to base (time 23:06). At the Mason's Workstation, he puts together the Naughty Night Light (time 24:02). When properly installed, it adds 500 points to the town's score.

Lastly, Davilas makes some Flagstones and Flagstone Flooring. He uses these to improve the flooring throughout the base and increase the town's score.

In time, the base reaches Level 5, the maximum (time 26:13). Nice!

When he is done, Davilas saves the game. Then, he ventures off to find the pillar of light.

Near where he rescued Rollo, he finds the pillar of light emanating from an altar (time 28:46). Rubiss speaks to him and warns him that he will lose all his possessions when he steps through and heads to the next land.

Afterwards, Davilas approaches the pillar of light (time 29:35). Before Davilas leaves, Rollo will arrive to have the last word. Rollo also gives Davilas a last present from Pippa.

When Davilas steps through, the player receives the results for completing Chapter 1 (time 31:32). Davilas has completed four out of five challenges: build the base to Level 5, defeat the three Dragons, build a Cantlin Garden, and repair the Hammerhood's Graveyard. For completing the Cantlin chapter, the player earns the trophy "Custodian of Cantlin". There is one challenge remaining: complete the chapter within 20 days. I may do these time challenges after completing the chapters normally.

On the loading screen, Chapter 2: Rimuldar becomes available (time 32:31). So does Terra Incognita, a free-building area. New recipes become available in Terra Incognita based on the challenges completed in each chapter.

Next time, Davilas will get started on Chapter 2: Rimuldar.
