This is video #019 in my Dragon Quest X for PC gameplay series. This video does not contain commentary. To view the commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/3F8HT36qu_M

Previously, Davilas the Elf Minstrel reached the first Elf hub city, Azlan. We will start the video by beginning the Azlan storyline.

To get on with the story, Davilas heads up to the mansion on the big hill in the west of the town. To approach it, go west along the southern pathway (time 1:19).

Inside the mansion, the northeast room at C-4/C-5 has a treasure chest (time 4:17). It contains an Yggdrasil Leaf! Definitely save this.

In the southeast room, Davilas will find Father Taketora (time 5:16). He must start the storyline by talking to him. Fuura will arrive! The poor girl seems down in the dumps. However, those elk seem pretty friendly.

Next, Davilas tries to get into the southwest room (time 9:08). Sonne, the green-haired servant, will show up and have some words for the protagonist.

Then, I'm pretty sure you have to talk with Father Taketora again (time 11:13).

Time for a few quests now. In the inn, Davilas talks with the concierge, Asagi (time 14:37). This can actually be handled in any of the major cities, including Glen, Orufea, Gatara, and Juretto.

After getting talked at by the concierge, you have to select the first option to be presented with the opportunity to take the quest (time 18:27). Finally, we are able to accept Quest 032. The objective is to obtain "Asutoru Niumu" from a Bodkin or a Paralyslicer (flying blade) enemy. I will handle this after handling another quest.

Then, in the pub, Davilas talks with Washina, the good elf behind the counter (time 20:49). As with the concierge, this can be handled in any of the major cities. Selecting the first option will prompt the bartender to give you Quest 031. This profitable quest unlocks the ability to hire support characters from the pub. It is also easy, since you can just go and buy what is needed.

After accepting this quest, Davilas finds a little cave entrance to the southwest of the town entrance (time 23:28). Within, a treasure chest at D-5 contains some branches. I'm guessing Supple Branches; that's what the Hiragana at the front of the name mean, according to Google Translate.

To get what is needed for Quest 031, Davilas heads to the train station in the southeast of town (time 24:38). Doesn't that elf just look dapper in his green outfit? Davilas heads of to Rakkaran, the town on the south-central island between Orufea and Juretto.

In Rakkaran, we arrive in the Medal King's castle. While here, there is another quest that can be undertaken to enable Mini Medals.

Upstairs, Davilas heads to the throne room. As he approaches the throne, there is a scene with the medal king, Gourekku (time 27:38).

Then, Davilas talks with the man standing to the east, Kuranohho (time 28:17). He issues Quest 033. He wants us to go see Renohho in Kirakira, the windmill city west of Orufea.

To pick up the item for Quest 031, Davilas leaves the castle and heads to the small central building (time 30:03). The lady shopkeeper, Nadi, sells the needed item: the Birdsong Nectar (さえずりのみつ). Its graphic looks like a bird made of honey.

After buying this, Davilas zooms back to Azlan. At the pub, he turns in the Birdsong Nectar to the bartender (time 34:05). One of the current rewards is an Urubea coin, which is worth a lot of money. However, the main reward is being able to hire support characters. It sucks that they are AI-controlled, but it's better than trying to fight monsters solo.

Davilas hires on a Gladiator/Battlemaster, a Priest/Cleric, and a Warrior/Soldier. Why did I see so many Priests without equipment??

Next, Davilas will handle Quest 033 so he can get Mini Medals. Of course, he accepted this quest in Rakkaran earlier. To start out, he heads to the train station and gets a ticket for Orufea, the Pukuripo hub city (time 40:13).

When he exits the station, he goes ahead and resets his spawn point for this place in case he gets wiped out on the way to Kirakira (time 41:15). Then, he takes the western exit from town (time 41:47).

This leads out to the Western Orufea region. The enemies along the road are not too horrendous if you have a party with you, though the Chimaeras are a bit rough with their fire breath. The Tombreros are undeniably cute.

Davilas leads his party to the exit at A-6, which leads to Windmill Hill (風車の丘). The elevated railway blocks passage to the west, but there are several tunnels going underneath it.

South of town at C-5, Davilas farms for some green veggie (time 45:51).

While going through this region, Davilas reaches Minstrel Level 17 and gains 4 skill points (time 47:04). Again, he dumps his skill points into the Minstrel vocation's skill, Litheness.

At B-5, Davilas farms for silk (time 49:32).

Description continued in the comments.
