This is video #014 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest XI: 過ぎ去りし時を求めて (Echoes of an Elusive Age). I am playing the Japanese version for the Sony PlayStation 4. Previously, the party explored the Deruka Costa area east of Ishi Village. They found two letters and a Magic Stone that Teo left for Davilas, and Davilas crafted a couple of upgrades at the Deruka Costa camp. Now, it is time for them to infiltrate the Derukadaaru Temple in search of the Red Orb.

The Derukadaaru Temple can be found in the south of Deruka Costa (time 1:04). The party arrives at the temple's exterior.

In a tent by the base of the temple, a pot contains a Single Phial (time 1:57).

The stairway leads into the temple's entrance hall (time 2:31). There, they find a bunch of dead or unconscious soldiers. Howling wind directs their attention to a stairway behind the altar. How original!

Behind the altar, the party heads down the stairway (time 4:27). This leads to the 2F corridor. There is a dead soldier with a note here.

The party continues downstairs to a maze on 1F (time 5:08). They will begin to find enemies here, including Imps, Healslimes, Smokes, and Mecha-mynahs. The party will have to go around in a counterclockwise direction to progress.

In the west, the party climbs the ledges to go outside (time 6:12).

To the south, they find a farming point for Beast Hide (time 6:46).

They head back into 1F (time 7:03).

On the eastern side of the dungeon, the party climbs the ledges to go out to the eastern side (time 10:22).

To the south, they find a chest containing a Strength Ring (time 10:53).

The party goes back into 1F (time 11:25).

By some Mecha-mynahs in the northeast, there is a farming point for Wings of Bat (time 12:26).

During the party's exploration, Camus reaches Level 10 (time 13:09). He earns 2 skill points for a total of 4. He learns Jibaria, a debuff that damages an enemy each turn. Also, Camus and Davilas acquire the Renkei ability Fire Rock. It combines Camus's Jibaria and Davilas's Sizz to affect all enemies. Not bad. Camus spends his four skill points on a Boomerang trait that seems to boost probability of critical hits by 5 percent while he is equipped with a Boomerang.

In the northwest dead end, a chest contains a Noble Garb (time 15:10).

The party heads downstairs to level B1 (time 15:40). The path continues directly down to B2 (time 15:50) and then to B3 (time 15:58).

On B3, the party will find a shiny monster on the field (time 16:08). When they defeat shiny monsters, they will be able to ride them!

So, the party defeats the shiny Trick Egg (time 16:23). When they defeat it, they are able to ride it and jump high with the R2 button.

On the high northern platform, there is a chest containing a Seed of Defence (time 17:16).

On the southern platform, a chest contains a recipe book (time 17:29). It contains the recipe for the Feathered Cap.

On the main level, there is a chest containing 2 Magic Waters (time 17:47).

Then, the party enters the back room (time 18:35). Within, they find a couple of monsters salivating over the Red Orb.

It is time for a battle against two Evil Beasts (time 19:08). They can cast Deceleratle to lower the party's agility. Other than that, I'm not too impressed. Focus one down and then move to the next.

After the party defeats them, Davilas reaches Level 10 (time 21:31). He earns 2 skill points for a total of 8. He spends them on the first Hero ability, which increases the chance to enter the Zone by 5 percent.

A scene takes place after the Evil Beasts die (time 22:10). Camus finally reclaims his Red Orb. Now, the party can head east.

After the scene, it is time to get out of the dungeon (time 23:02). They could just evac out with Riremito, but they ride their Trick Egg out instead.

They are soon back out at the Deruka Costa (time 25:58).

They hit up the Deruka Costa campsite again (time 26:35). The Mysterious Blacksmith levels up again. Now, the up-down strike is available. This ability can be used to strike two vertically adjacent areas of the item being forged. It is more economical than the normal strike. Based on the recipe found in the temple, Davilas cooks up two Feathered Caps, each requiring a Beast Hide and a Flurry Feather. He makes a Feathered Cap +2 and a Feathered Cap +1. Davilas and Camus can each equip them.

Next time, the party will continue east past the camp.
