Previously, the worst befell Insomnia, as the empire used the peace treaty signing to attack the city and kill King Regis. Now, Chapter 2 has begun, and the party must catch up with Cor at the tombs in northwestern Leide. First, though, it is time for a couple of sidequests.
Note that now that Chapter 2 has started, the Empire will begin sending paratroopers after the party. Some of them are quite dangerous.
In Takka's Pit Stop at Hammerhead, the party examines the new quest marker (time 1:07). Cid has asked Takka to give the homeless party some work. So, Takka assigns them the quest "Scenic Delivery". The objective is to obtain a Lucian Tomato, which can be purchased from the item shop in Galdin Quay.
The party rests in the Hammerhead caravan outside Takka's Pit Stop (time 2:32). It isn't glorious, but it's cheap. It provides a meager EXP multiplier of 1.2, so I would not recommend tallying EXP here.
In the morning, they get a phone call from Dino (time 3:47). The D-man assigns them the quest "The Aspiring Artisan". The first objective is to "mingle" with him in Galdin Quay.
The party gets on the car and begins driving down to Galdin Quay (time 4:48). The exploration bonuses of EXP and AP from the Astralsphere make it worth it to avoid fast-travel on occasion. So does the soundtrack music from other Final Fantasy games.
In the Saulhend Pass south of Longwythe Rest Area, they pull over to snag another Megalixir (time 7:21).
After a few minutes, they alight at Galdin Quay (time 9:43).
For "Scenic Delivery", they visit Galdin's item shop (time 9:55). Under Ingredients, they purchase a Lucian Tomato for 200 gil. The next objective is to deliver the tomato to Takka.
Then, by the pier, they talk to Dino for "The Aspiring Artisan" (time 11:16). Unfortunately, the business in Insomnia made it impossible for him to arrange passage to Altissia. However, he does have another goal for the party. He asks them to find another gemstone by a deposit near Longwythe Peak.
So, the party takes the Regalia north to the quest destination (time 13:03).
They pull over and disembark northeast of the Longwythe Rest Area (time 16:13).
They soon find the search area for "The Aspiring Artisan" (time 16:36). The objective is to obtain an amethyst stone.
The deposit is on the southeast edge of the search area (time 16:45). Examining it, they obtain an Amethyst Stone. Now, the objective is to return it to Dino. They manage to get in and out without too much trouble.
The party uses the Regalia to fast-travel back to Galdin Quay (time 17:37).
Down at the docks, they report in to Dino (time 19:13). "The Aspiring Artisan" complete! Each party member earns 500 EXP. They acquire an Amethyst Bracelet. This raises strength by 35.
Then, they talk to Dino again (time 20:20). He assigns them his next quest, "A Stone-Studded Stunner". The search area is in the Kettier Highland in southeastern Duscae, which the party cannot access yet. They will have to wait until the next chapter.
Afterwards, the party fast-travels back to Hammerhead for "Scenic Delivery" (time 22:08). Ignis and Noctis have a cute exchange when they arrive.
At Takka's Pit Stop, the party turns in the Lucian Tomato (time 22:55). "Scenic Delivery" complete! Each party member earns 300 EXP. Noctis rewards them with a little care package: 2 Gighee Hams, 2 Leiden Potatoes, 2 Sheep Milks, and 2 Funguars.
Takka will have another quest available. The party will knock this out next time.
Thanks for watching!
