This is video #08 in my Dragon Warrior II playthrough. After returning to Hamlin, the party finds the "common mutt" and uses the Mirror of Ra on her. It breaks the spell on her and returns her to her normal form! This is the Princess of Moonbrooke, who is named Kailin in this playthrough. She starts at Level 1 and is armed with some useless garbage: a Bamboo Stick and Clothes. However, her stats are fairly hardy for being only Level 1.

Princess Kailin is a wizard-type character. Her physical attacks are worthless, but she will learn excellent magic spells. She starts at Level 1 with the Healmore spell.

As with the Prince of Cannock, the Princess of Moonbrooke has eight possible names: Varia, Elani, Ollisa, Roz, Kailin, Peta, Illyth, and Gwen. Again, Dragon Warrior II performs some calculations on the hero's name to determine her name. See Presenter's Dragon Warrior II Name Generation Guide on GameFAQs for more details.

The party returns to Leftwyne to get the Magic Knife for Kailin (time index 3:00).

While heading back towards Hamlin, Kailin reaches Level 2 (time index 3:57). At this level, she learns Sleep.

After resting in Hamlin, they head towards Moonbrooke Castle to continue earning Gold and getting experience. They are almost there when Kailin reaches Level 3 (time index 4:48).

In Moonbrooke Castle, they head back to the throne room for some punny dialog between Kailin and the King (time index 6:34). Then, the party heads out the northwest exit of Moonbrooke Castle and goes south to a secret entrance in the southwest corner. Watch your party's HP! This takes the party to the little courtyard in the middle of the castle, where Kailin reaches Level 4 and learns Infernos (time index 9:15). This is a group-attack spell.

Past the courtyard, the party goes downstairs and meets a soldier who helped Kailin escape. He seems to be the only person still alive.

On the way out, the party manages to kill a Metal Slime (time index 12:30).

On the way back to Hamlin, Heorot reaches Level 12 (time index 13:45).

Back in Hamlin (time index 15:00), Heorot trades in his Chain Sickle for a Broad Sword.

After the pitstop in Hamlin, Kailin reaches Level 5 (time index 16:40). Before long, Talint reaches Level 10 and learns the helpful Return spell (time index 17:40).

A little while later, Kailin reaches Level 6 and learns the spell Surround (time index 18:40). This spell blinds enemies and lowers their accuracy.

After a while more, Heorot reaches Level 13 (time index 20:25). After the next battle, Talint reaches Level 11.

After a few minutes, Kailin reaches Level 7 (time index 22:30).

Finally, after the party has earned enough Gold, Heorot trades in his Leather Shield for a Steel Shield (time index 23:25). It is very expensive at 2000 Gold.
