The Duchess of Cornwall, who is Royal Colonel to the 4th Battalion The Rifles, has laid a wreath at the memorial to the fallen outside Battalion Headquarters.

During the visit this morning she also received the Royal Salute from 30 soldiers as they paraded after completing their six-week long cadre.

Her visit, which also includes opening a new Serjeants Mess, was due to end with a reception to meet soldiers and their families at the barracks in Bulford, Wiltshire.
