This is a piece I wrote back in October 2014 that was really one of my most interesting experiments. I had one motif going through the piece, moving it just down a half-step and combining that figure in both instruments at the end. The recording may not have been the best, but I do hope you enjoy listening to this piece! And yes, I sketched out the entire thing while on my walk in the beautiful autumn morning. :)

Looking back on the piece, I see now that this was my first true foray into composing like Debussy and Ravel. Having just finished "Birds of Prey" last month, and this being a much smaller piece, I was able to have more fun and really freed up my style even more. I used lots of different string techniques besides just pizzicato and arco, like hitting the wood of the violin and playing close to the bridge. I performed this work as well, and while I believe it was one of my weaker performances of technique, the recording still shows an attempt at the composition.
